10 kW Utility Support Inverter

The all new Trace PV Series grid interconnect inverter makes industrial-commercial power production more affordable and attractive than ever! This power conversion center takes renewable energy generated DC power in the range of 300-480 VDC and outputs 208 VAC three-phase power. The unique ability to parallel multiple inverters for system growth makes the Trace PV Series universal for commercial scale grid interconnect systems.

INVERTER TECHNOLOGY:
The inverter matrix utilizes insulated gate bi-polar transistor (IGBT) technology essential for highly efficient large-scale power production. A digital signal processor (DSP) controls the operation of the inverter and implements the peak power tracker function for optimizing the power delivery. The unit includes an AC line filter that removes harmonic currents and high frequency harmonic current components at the utility system interface. Power quality exceeds IEEE-519 recommended limits for total harmonic distortion, regulates power factor precisely at unity and meets IEEE 929 specifications.

INVERTER OPERATION:
Inverter wakeup is triggered when the open circuit DC input voltage rises above the preset minimum operating voltage. The inverter controls utilize a unique power tracking algorithm to operate in a power maximization mode at all times there is sufficient power. The inverter transitions back to the idle state for nightly shutdown when tare losses exceed input power for a predetermined time period.

PROTECTIVE FEATURES:

  • Over-and under-voltage protection
  • Over-and under-frequency protection
  • Anti-islanding protection
  • Over-temperature protection
  • DC ground fault protection
  • Short circuit protection
  • Over current protection

OPTIONS:
  • DC disconnect, NEMA 3R enclosure.
  • Fused combiner box with 6, 12, or 22 source circuits in a NEMA 4 enclosure.
  • Three-phase isolation transformer is 208 to 120/208 -Y delta connected, in a NEMA 3R outdoor enclosure – wall or floor mounted. This option is required to allow grounding of the DC system per NEC Article 690.
  • AC circuit breaker for disconnecting the AC side of the power conditioning unit. Can be mounted adjacent to or on the isolation transformer enclosure.
  • Operator interface with a rugged, weather-resistant liquid crystal display and membrane keypad. Allows access to metering, control and status functions. Displays: DC voltage, kVA, ground current, kVAR's and AC voltage. (Available 1st Qtr. 2000).
  • Remote control interface - Data acquisition system (DAS) allows the local operator interface to be accessed remotely through an RS-232 communication link. All parameters, controls and status functions accessible through the local operator interface may be monitored remotely. AC and DC power parameters may be logged and analyzed through the DAS. Factory set wake-up and shutdown parameters may be custom configured with this remote. Includes software, cables, port adapters and an internal plug-in modem card.

* Note: For grid interactive use only, this is not a battery based autonomous inverter.
